Sasha takes care of 750 unwanted dogs .. – this has never been his dream - but the dogs are there, waiting for food, waiting for help.. every day..again. The dogs are kept in packs, they run free for 8 hours per day, they eat, rest and play together. They are safe. Safe from the dangers of the street and humans. We help them with food and basic medication. We also run a sterilization program and try to improve care for the old and weaker dogs and abandoned pups.

Dear friend,
We want to take a moment to thank you — truly — for standing by Sasha’s Shelter.
Because of you, hundreds of tails are still wagging.
We have two big updates for you, and both matter a lot.
UPDATE ON THE SHELTER RELOCATION
If you’ve been following us, you know that due to a new city rezoning law, 250 of Sasha’s dogs must vacate the current shelter premises.
The good news is that the eviction deadline has been postponed to December 27.
That means:
✅ The dogs are safe for now
✅ We have a little more time to build the new shelter
✅ And the perimeter fence is funded — thanks to you!
Next goal: build concrete flooring for the new night kennels.
It’s vital for warmth, cleanliness, and safety.
We’re moving forward one step (and one paw) at a time — and we couldn’t do it without your support.
Your trust, your kindness, and your belief in these dogs give us hope.
❄️ WINTER IS COMING — AND SO IS THE NEED FOR WARMTH
Meet Maki — the soulful little guy in the center photo.
This year, he’s our winter mascot — and he’s barking for your support.
Maki was found years ago, alone in the snow, soaked and starving.
Thanks to Sasha, he survived. But winter left a scar, and he never forgot how cold it felt.
Now, he's speaking up for the whole pack — asking for help to keep warm.
Here’s what’s needed:
✔️ 60 cubic meters of firewood
✔️ Straw for dog houses
✔️ Help for the older dogs, whose joints ache in the cold
We’ve already started gathering supplies, but we still have a long way to go.
Each cubic meter of wood costs €67 — and we need all 60 before the real freeze sets in.
Every share, every donation, every word of encouragement helps more than you know.
If you can help us spread the word, we’d be so grateful.

From Maki, Chiquita, Savka, and the whole furry family: thank you for not forgetting us.
You make the difference.
With all our hearts — and paws — thank you.
Please feel free to share this update with others who might want to help. Every voice helps us get closer to home.
With gratitude,
The Sasha’s Shelter Team

Dear Teamers,
I'm thrilled to share some exciting news about our winter wood fundraising campaign (https://www.gofundme.com/f/winter-wood-for-sashas-dogs) for Sasha's dogs - we have reached 86% of our goal!
Thanks to our supporters' incredible generosity, we're already providing warmth for our furry friends as the cold weather sets in. It's heartwarming to see the dogs, especially our seniors, gathering around the warm stoves, finding comfort from the bitter cold.
For those who may not know, we need 60 cubic meters of wood to keep our 700+ dogs warm throughout the winter months. With 86% of our goal reached, we're so close to ensuring their warmth for the entire winter season. The sight of our short-haired residents huddling near the heat sources reminds us just how crucial this basic necessity is for their wellbeing.
We're almost there!
If you could help us spread the word about our fundraising campaign by sharing it with your friends and family, we could reach our goal and ensure none of our dogs will feel the bite of winter cold. Every share brings us closer to keeping all our furry friends warm and comfortable.

Your support is making a real difference - every log of wood you've helped provide brings warmth and comfort to these deserving souls. We particularly notice the positive impact on our elderly dogs, whose aging bones are especially grateful for the warmth during these cold days.
Thank you for being part of our shelter's story and for helping us keep our promise to these beautiful animals.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Alessia
