1 in 100 babies is born with heart disease. The impact of the diagnosis and the surgical interventions are very critical moments. We are experts in the impact of heart disease on day-to-day life, we offer psychosocial support to children, adolescents and their families, and we coordinate support groups for all ages where they can answer questions and fears and exchange experiences. From the psychosocial service, on 2022, we are atended 174 minors and 609 relatives.
The benefits of this group will be allocated to the pregnancies project that AACIC carries out at the Vall d'Hebron hospital and the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital. The time of diagnosis during pregnancy, childbirth, surgical intervention of the baby shortly after birth and adaptation to "normality", are very hard times. If the couple receives psychological support from the moment of diagnosis they will be able to better manage the crisis situations with which they will have to face. The more prepared the parents are, the better the environment will welcome the baby. Thank you very much for your support

Gracias a tu apoyo, las 209 beneficiarias del año 2024 se han sentido mucho más seguras. En la avaluación posterior al servicio, las parejas han expresado tener más facilidad para identificar sus emociones en cuanto a la aceptación del diagnóstico, tratamiento y posible evolución. Dado que es una enfermedad crónica, se sienten emocionalmente más estables y seguras para aceptar la situación. Aceptan los tratamientos médicos con más optimismo y buscan alternativas para complementar y facilitar la calidad de vida tanto del hijo/a como de la familia.
