Dear Teamers,
WE HAVE AMAZING NEWS. After building the fence to protect the children, water was a top priority. It was time to find a way to bring drinking water to these kids, and local teachers did it!
The construction for the water pump started based on a 'I give you my word'. We found a way to agree with a local company to provide the materials and to pay them as soon as possible.
One of the teachers, Jallah Kamara built the water pump by himself and with the help of friends and the collaboration of Martha and the oldest kids.
Work started at the beginning of June. And now, at the end of July the pump is finally done! ❤
The orphanage has now water, but the most amazing thing is that even in need the orphanage still thinks about their community and the pump will also serve the neighbourhood around as best as possible.
Huge thanks to all those that made this happen. From those who donated to those who did the work.
Special thanks to the company who believed in the orphanage and has given us the materials without pre-payment - trust is something incredible and we couldn't be more proud that this company trusted us.
We are still in the process to pay the pump, the final cost is foreseen to be around 1.200€.
As you can see, your €/month is achieving alazing things. If you wish to help us even more, please make your donation to our Belgium account:

Big thanks on behalf of Martha, the kids and the Paynnesville slum ❤
Last month was very important for Martha Dewellie and the kids: Our dear Patricia Proesmans, Teaming Manager of this group, could finally go to visit these amazing children ❤ after so much time apart.
Check out how she was received Patricia had the chance to spend some days in Monrovia and brought there school materials, clothes and toys for the kids. She could enjoy classes and games with them. Patricia could check how the wall construction goes. It is almost completely finished, so the house and school area is now successfully protected from any possible attacks from wild animals or malicious people, specially at night.
Patricia came back to Europe really happy and touched by the experience. We are looking forward to visiting them very soon. Luckily now it is possible again.
Dear Teamers:
Thanks to your contribution and the donations made for the zumba event, the materials arrived at the orphanage in January and it was GO TIME! Everyone came out to help: Martha, the teachers, the kids, the neighbours... And just like that, the work to build the fence started and they are committed to making it happen.
Please have a look at the latest photos we received! We uploaded them in the "project we support" section..
The fence is almost done but still, a bit to go. Very soon it will be complete and the kids will be safe.
If you were wondering why a fence and protection is needed: Specially at night, the kids are very vulnerable as they need to go out from the house in the complete dark (there´s no power supply or any lights in the neigbourhood) to go to the latrines (which are obviously separate from the house).
Sadly the sexual aggresions in Liberia are very common to women and children and on top of that, there are wild animals in the area. (As you might remember, some months ago, one of the youngest kids was bitten by one of those animals).
Thanks to your monthly contribution all these improvements are already a reality in these kids lives.
Big thank you from Martha and the kids <3

Dear Teamers:
Today we are happy to share that we were able to raise the money not just to repair the roof, but also to start the construction of a bathroom for the house!!! Please find the pictures in the section "Project we support".
Thanks to your monthly € and to those who made an extra donation to support in this emergency situation.
The school is still not working, but the teachers prepare weekly lessons and homework for the pupils on a sheet of paper. These papers are distributed to each kid at his/her home by the same person. Like this all the kids can continue learning in spite of the pandemic.
The kids at the orphan home like to do their homework at the empty school because they have chairs, tables and school materials there. As other kids of the neigbourhood may join, they all wear their face-masks or face-shields.
Big thank you on behalf of Martha and the kids! <3
Dear Teamers:
We have bad news from Monrovia. It's rainy season and a terrible storm caused big damage at Dewellie's orphan home. The roof has to be repaired urgently, as the girls bedroom is filled with water. (We added pictures in the "Project we support" section). Your contribution is more necessary than ever. We want to provide as well face shields for all the children and teachers.
Now is the time to spread the froup! Please talk around you, please share in your social networks and if you want to make a bigger donation, please send us a private message and we will provide you the bank account details.
Big thanks on behalf of Martha and the kids <3
Dear Teamers, in these difficult times, we would like to send you a message of encouragement. Little by little, things start going back to normal in Europe.
As you can imagine, these times are very hard for the children in Dewellie's home. Liberia is in lockdown.
The school stopped the classes to avoid any posibility of transmision of the coronavirus. However, the teaching activities continue despite the difficult situation: The teachers organize the lessons and exercises for the kids on paper and one designed person brings the lessons to each kid every week.
We have posted some pictures of the kids during the lockdown ("Project we support" section---> Pictures). It's not easy for so many children to stay inside in a small house but they are trying their best patiently and hoping this crisis and this virus goes away.
Stay safe and stay positive, dear Teamers. Thank you so much for your support <3
Dear Teamers, we really hope that you and your families are well and in good health.
In these difficult times we are living, the kids at Dewellie's home wanted to let you know that they are very concerned about coronavirus. In the video below they remind us the preventive measures to fight against the virus and to stop the transmision.
Sadly, they know very well the suffering and fear we are living nowadays in Europe. In 2014-2015 Liberia was the most affected country by the ebola epidemic.
Please be safe! Stay at home and follow the preventive recommendations. Hopefully we will defeat this virus soon if we all work together, as a team.
The kids at Dewellie's home, Martha Dewellie and the Teaming managers are sending you our best wishes <3
Dear Teamers, in February we have been worried for the health of 2 of the kids at Dewellie's home.
The little girl Anointed was very weak and had high fever and our dear Emmanuel had serious ulcers on his skin. Martha took them to a hospital in Monrovia.
Anointed was diagnosed of malaria and she needed perfusion. The doctor checked Emmanuelle's ulcers as well and he prescribed treatments for both kids. Martha and Emmanuel went to the pharmacy to buy the medications.
We have posted the pictures of this visit in the section "Project that we support" and you can see how now our lovely Anointed is happily recovered from malaria, which is a life threatening disease extremely dangerous in kids under 5 y.o. Emmanuel's ulcers are closed now and his skin has improved although some scars will remain. We have paid the 60$ for the visit to the hospital and the treatments.
We feel very proud to be able to assist in these situations and to contribute that this kids can have food, clothes, education and health. As you can see, your contribution is precious.
Thank you for sharing and bringing new friends to this group, we are already 114 members. With very little we can do such big things together! <3
We can see how helpful a simple euro can be! Thanks for your care.
Thanks a lot for your contribution, Emi. We're happy that both kids are doing well now. Ans this was possible thanks to all the teamers of this group. Thank you <3
Muchas gracias por tu colaboración, Emi! Estamos muy contentos de que los dos niños ya estén bien. Y esto ha sido posible gracias a todos los Teamers del grupo. Gracias <3
Happy new year, dear Teamers!
Our group is growing and we are already 108! Thank you for having joined this project and also to have brought new teamers. We wish you a wonderful 2020 :)
We have very good news: Some of our teamers really wanted to do something else and they made an important donation. We have bought one pair of trainers for each kid, socks and underwear. We provided some school materials, toiletries, some toys and didactic books for the teachers.
With the help of Brussels airlines and their crew, all these things arrived to the orphan home. The kids received these things with joy and they sang and danced to show their happiness and gratitude.
Here you have a video and more pictures are uploaded in the section "project we support".
If you also would like to do something else and make a bigger donation, please contact the Teaming managers with a message or let us know with a comment in this forum .
Thanks so much on behalf of the kids <3
102 members and growing! Many thanks to every single teamer to make this project possible <3
We added some new pictures of the kids (please find them in the "Project we support" section) studying at the school with the workbooks that we provided.
As you can see, the school is improving... but there's still a lot to do! There are 3 teachers and a 4th one is needed. Wouldn't be amazing to be able to pay the monthly salary (80$/month/teacher) for 2 teachers with our contributions? We need to be 160 teamers for that.
Would you help us to find more members? Please talk around you about this group and share in your social media.
Thanks again on behalf of the kids <3
Dear Teamers,
We are very close to have 100 members in this group! Let's try to talk around us and spread the project. Yes, we can! :)
The works continue in Dewellie's home with the building of a 3rd beedroom and in Dewellie's school with new rooms: a nursery and dinning room. We have posted some pictures of the works in the "Project we support" section. You can see the difference with the pictures of the school at the very begining of our project. You can be very proud, dear teamers, all these improvements are possible because of you.
Thank you <3
Dear Teamers, this month we have fantastic news :D
We are happy to inform you that one of the teamers of this group, Patricia Martin, offered a very important donation to our cause. This amount added to our monthly contribution, allowed us to buy one matress for each of the kids of Dewellie's home... That makes 15 matresses! And the salary for 3 teachers (80$/month each teacher) at Dewellie's school.
We uploaded some new pictures in the "project we support" section. Every kid wanted a picture with his/her matress! :) Here you have a video as well... You can see how happy the children were bringing the matresses into the house, how they placed them in the girls' and the boys' sleeping rooms, how they put away the "old matresses", how they made the beds and how they posed with their brand new beds. For them it was a party. The girls were so grateful that they sang and offered a hairdressing session with african braids to Vanessa, lovely Brussels airline crew member that supervised the process.
We all made it possible :) We are 96 active members right now, so.... Let's spread the word and continue growing.
Thank you so much on behalf of the kids <3
Qué caritas de felicudad!
Gracias por compartir con nosotros esos momentos.
Gracias a ti, Maite y a todos los teamers ha sido posible... Los niños estaban felices. Todos querían una foto con su colchón <3
Dear Teamers, we are already 90 in this group! Let's go now for 100 teamers ;)
On 24th June, Brussels Airlines crew will pay a visit to our orphanage in Monrovia, Liberia.
They now grow their vegetables themselves (project succeeded)
They sew and change your heaps of clothes and bedroom goods.
They are doing well, though I say so myself!
These are the new goals for our group:
-Teachers 80 euros/month (20€/ week/teacher)
-Mosquito nets: 9 euros for 1
-Medication: approximately 40 euros, for antipyretics and painkillers
-Roof bedrooms: 450 € approximately (1 roof tile: around 4 euros)
-Bag of rice (enough for 10 days): 18 euros
-Baby food and diapers: 25 euros
Let's spread our group and try to find more members for the 24th June. This is the link for registration: www.teaming.net/liberia
No matter how small is the help, because you know, many little ones .... make the difference!
The kids thank you <3
Hi!
First of all the best wishes from/to the entire community :-)
Big welcome to our new teamers Miranda and Patricia! We keep on growing :-)
We passed the magic mark of more then 1500€ collected!!! This means 100 bags of rice or the salary of 2 teachers for an entire year.. Considering we are only doing this since 2 years it's quiet remarkable.
Bravo to all of you!
Happy new year, dear Teamers!
On behalf of Martha and the kids we want to thank you for your support. With your help, the Dewellie's home and school have meaningfully improved during the past year: New rooms are being built, they have a place to keep some chiken and to grow crops...
The kids could have school materials, more furniture at the school, clothes and some toys.
The children in the neighbourhood, which is a slum, could also benefit from the school and there are now 87 children studying there and 7 teachers.
The living conditions of the kids are progressing month by month with your help, but there are still many things to improve. That's why we'd like to ask those of you with payment problems to resolve them as soon as possible. Every € is esential for us.
And to finish with, we'd like to remind you to share in your social networks, websites, emails and to talk about this group around you. Let's spread the word and continue growing!
With very little we can make great things, if we are together.
All our best wishes for 2019! <3
Christmas gifts for the kids. Thank you, dear Teamers!!!
Dear Teamers,
Some days ago, Patricia (Teaming Manager of the group) travelled to Monrovia. She brought Christmas gifts for the kids. Here you have a little video and you will see them singing carols. You have also more pictures of the kids super happy receiving the presents.
Our prroject is alive and kicking, we will built 3 bedrooms for the house and a big room will be added to the school like this the students will have a lunchroom to sit together and eat at noon.
Thanks to our contribution all these improvements will be possible. Please don't hesitate to share and talk around you. Big thank you on behalf of Martha and the kids.
Hi all, a small update: Martha and the kids are doing fine.. On our last visit we brought them some more clothes, school material and donated chocolates for all! Their smiles were priceless! Check out the new pictures..
The school is growing: currently 7 teachers and 87 students. Thanks to your efforts Martha's children can get education AND those in the close neighbourhood as well.
Their home is sightly improving, now they have a basic fence and can keep chickens.. A a next step they will start growing crops as the fertile season has arrived..we already provided them with seeds..
Thanks for your contribution and please spread the word :-)
Please find more pictures in the ¨"Project that we support" section. You will see how the water pump was built.
