We are so proud to announce that The Reach Foundation UK will be starting a new project in Mali towards the end of the year! Persistent insecurity in Mali has meant that many children have been displaced and as a result are suffering from acute malnutrition. Our project aims to help by feeding displaced children attending a village school in Timbuktu, Northern Mali. Each child walks between 5 - 10 kilometers a day to reach our school and we'll be working with the community to ensure that every child receives a meal everyday. Please, please help us to feed them. Thank you!

It costs £1.65 to feed a child for one month and 100% of the money donated to The Reach Foundation UK goes directly to our projects.

The Reach Foundation UK was established 6 years ago after a year of working with a teacher living in rural Malawi. The teacher had 20 children visiting her house for lessons. They would sit under the shade of a big tree and she would teach them and try to give them 3 bowls of porridge a week. Outside of the 3 bowls of porridge they ate very little, often not eating for days. We asked if we could fund a breakfast program for those children, and if so, would she feed them for us and help them. She agreed.

From that moment on we became partners and have since started 3 feeding and education programs in 3 villages for 300 children. We have teachers, volunteers and cooks who all receive a small monthly donation from the charity in order to feed their families too. The Reach Foundation UK has purchased a maize mill to help the local communities mill their maize without cost, started a feeding program during the winter months in the local hospital, built shelters for the children to study in, helped families start their own business and sent several vans to Malawi, each filled with hospital equipment in order to equip our government approved health clinic. As a Foundation we are very close to the lives of our partners in Malawi. We have recently helped to ship a small van over to Malawi. This is to enable us to support increased access to food, education and healthcare for children and families living in rural communities.

The Reach Foundation receive videos and photos on a daily basis from all of our projects. We know our children, volunteers and hospital workers and endeavor to keep our supporters as close to the projects as possible. All of the volunteers we have in Malawi are Malawian, this enables our projects remain sustainable and communities empowered.
