Our work also involves:
Sending care packages to overseas recruits whose families can’t send them because of time/costs to post to the U.K.
We send to recruits who have been injured, back classed or just struggling with being away from home. Parents contact us and ask us to help with encouraging words... so letters are sent as well as a small care package.
Sending to sailors in P2 and deployment to those who don’t have any family to send anything or again no one in the U.K. to post parcels. These sailors are those that need support following a bereavement or just feeling lonely and need to know someone is looking out for them.
We are sending Christmas boxes to the children in Africa
We have sent flowers/gift parents following a bereavement or a crisis.
The journey through Royal Navy basic training and beyond is hard at the best of times, but for those who suffer extra hardships, for whatever reason, it can be especially difficult.
This group has been set up for those who have kindly offered to give their support and encouragement to those young sailors who may be struggling in any way. Thank you to all those who are supporting them
My son is one of the lucky recruits at HMS Raleigh who benefits from this fantastic cause. He has two adoptive Navy Mums based in the UK who send him care packages, inspiring notes and have taken care of him during times of travel. A brilliant project - please support it.
