This is a group pivoted by the Association of Neighbors and Friends of Ascaso that seeks to find resources to improve this village abandoned by the people between 1950 and 1990 and, above all, abandoned by public administrations. With the effort of volunteers, we carry out the Ascaso Film Festival every year, repair village trails, clear brush, organize work camps, and seek partnerships in companies and institutions that can help us restore.
The money raised this year will be used to offset the deficit that the Film Festival has been experiencing since 2021, when the General Directorate of Culture did not pay us the subsidy granted. In 2024, the Provincial Council of Huesca has reduced the subsidy by almost 60%. We are looking to be able to face the 14th edition (from 26 to 30 August 2025) with the greatest possible independence.
