PHASE Austria – learning material for women’s literacy

Only one in four women in the most remote areas of NW Nepal can read and write. A lack of education has a negative impact on health and dramatically increases the risk of exploitation and trafficking in women. Child marriage, the dowry system, and menstrual exclusion primarily affect these women. This is where PHASE Austria’s literacy projects come into play. For 18 years, PHASE Austria has been focusing on education, health promotion, employment opportunities and empowerment of women and girls in order to sustainably improve living situations and future opportunities in remote and disadvantaged communities in Nepal. Our on-site projects are carried out by our partner organization, PHASE Nepal.
