"La Casa de las Estrellas" is an Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Centre in Lanzarote where rescued animals are given a second chance. Since its foundation in 2020 more than 800 animals of all kinds have been cared for. There are currently around 200 in our care. Become a teamer to help us continue our work!

Pequeños, pero con una vida enorme. Antes de adoptar, recuerda que un conejo, una cobaya o un hámster no son mascotas temporales. Son vidas que dependen de ti cada día.
Conejos: requieren de 8 a 12 años de cuidados, espacio para correr, interacción y veterinarios especializados. No son juguetes ni regalos.
Cobayas: viven de 5 a 8 años, necesitan compañía de su especie, una dieta rica en vitamina C y espacio amplio.
Hámsters: tienen una vida de 2 a 3 años, necesitan jaulas grandes, sustrato profundo y respeto por su naturaleza nocturna.
Muchos llegan a protectoras porque crecen, ensucian, requieren tiempo o generan alergia. La adopción sin información siempre les afecta. No compres en tiendas. La cría indiscriminada promueve el abandono y el sufrimiento. Adoptar es un compromiso de toda su vida. Prevé dificultades, asume gastos, adapta tu hogar e infórmate antes de hacerlo. Tú puedes dar unos años; para ellos, tú eres toda su vida. Adopta responsablemente. No son caprichos, son grandes corazones buscando un hogar.

Small, but with a huge life. Before adopting, remember that a rabbit, guinea pig, or hamster is not a temporary pet. Their lives depend on you every single day.
Rabbits require 8 to 12 years of care, space to run, interaction, and specialized veterinarians. They are not toys or gifts.
Guinea pigs live 5 to 8 years, need companionship of their own species, a diet rich in vitamin C, and plenty of space.
Hamsters live 2 to 3 years, need large cages, deep bedding, and respect for their nocturnal nature.
Many end up in shelters because they grow, make a mess, require time, or trigger allergies. Adopting without proper information always affects them. Don’t buy from stores. Irresponsible breeding promotes abandonment and suffering. Adoption is a lifelong commitment. Anticipate challenges, assume expenses, adapt your home, and educate yourself before taking the step. You may give a few years; for them, you are their whole life. Adopt responsibly. They are not whims, they are big hearts looking for a home.
