Seit Jahren ist Carmen im Tierschutz tätig. Ihr Fokus liegt auf der Ursachenbekämpfung der miserablen Situation der Tiere in Spanien. Immer mehr kam sie zu der Überzeugung, dass es nicht ausreicht, sich vom Ausland aus zu engagieren. So packte sie Anfang 2014 ihr gesamtes Hab & Gut und wanderte nach Sevilla, Spanien aus, um vor Ort ein eigenes Tierheim, Asociación Parenas ES, zu eröffnen. Sie arbeitet Tag für Tag mit vollem Einsatz für all die in Not geratenen Tiere.

Der Tierschutzhof Hachmühlen e.V. wurde 2018 gegründet, um hauptsächlich Meerschweinchen und Kaninchen mit schlechten Vermittlungschancen ein dauerhaftes zu Hause zu geben, aber auch Hoftiere leben bei uns. Unser Ziel ist es, Tierheime vor sehr alten, chronisch kranken oder sozial auffälligen Tieren zu bewahren. Der Gnadenhof Allys kleine Farm e.V. hat bereits über 2000 Tieren ein zu Hause gegeben. Hier werden Tiere aufgenommen, gepäppelt und versorgt, mit viel Liebe und Fürsorge bis zum Lebensende. Junge Tiere werden in ein schönes Endzuhause vermittelt, alte, kranke und gehandycapte Tiere bleiben bis zum Ende hier und haben ein artgerechtes zu Hause gefunden.
