The next chapter begins! The containers have arrived at Catland Jávea, bringing us one step closer to building a safe haven for stray cats.

We want to help everyone visualise what our cat accomodation will look like once the refurbishment of the containers has been complete. Please note that the images shared are for illustration anrd visualisation purposes only, to act as a visual aid when communicating the plan outlined in this post.

Catland is located on rustic land, meaning traditional houses cannot be built there. Shipping containers have become a fantastic alternative for homes and offices due to their durability, sustainability, and flexibility.

We’ve partnered with a trusted local company, Tossalxabia, to bring our vision to life. The containers were transported from Valencia Port, where they were thoroughly cleaned before arriving at Catland.

Now, the transformation begins!
✅ Doors and windows are carefully cut to ensure proper ventilation.
✅ Metal posts and wool insulation will be installed to maintain a comfortable temperature year-round.
✅ Plasterboard walls will be added and painted for a cosy interior.
✅ Electrical sockets and plumbing will be installed for essential needs.
✅ Air conditioning and solar panels will be incorporated to make the space efficient and eco-friendly.

Each container measures 6m x 2.5m x 2.6m, providing plenty of space for our feline residents. Inside, they will be designed with shelves, climbing poles, and warm beds to create the perfect cat-friendly environment.
At night, cat flaps will allow them to roam safely within enclosed outdoor areas, giving them the security and freedom they deserve.

Queremos ayudar a todos a visualizar cómo será el alojamiento para nuestros gatos una vez que se complete la renovación de los contenedores. Catland está ubicado en un terreno rústico, lo que significa que no se pueden construir casas tradicionales allí. Los contenedores marítimos se han convertido en una alternativa fantástica para viviendas y oficinas debido a su durabilidad, sostenibilidad y flexibilidad.
Nos hemos asociado con una empresa local de confianza, Tossalxabia, para hacer realidad nuestra visión. Los contenedores fueron transportados desde el Puerto de Valencia, donde fueron limpiados a fondo antes de llegar a Catland.

¡Ahora comienza la transformación!
✅ Se recortarán puertas y ventanas para garantizar una ventilación adecuada.
✅ Se instalarán postes metálicos y aislamiento de lana para mantener una temperatura confortable todo el año.
✅ Se añadirán paredes de pladur que luego serán pintadas para crear un interior acogedor.
✅ Se instalarán enchufes eléctricos y tuberías para cubrir necesidades esenciales.
✅ Se prepararán para aire acondicionado y paneles solares, haciéndolos eficientes y ecológicos.

Cada contenedor mide 6m x 2.5m x 2.6m, proporcionando un amplio espacio para nuestros residentes felinos. En su interior, estarán equipados con estantes, postes para trepar y camas cálidas para crear un entorno perfecto y adaptado a los gatos.

Por la noche, las gateras permitirán que puedan moverse libremente dentro de áreas exteriores seguras, dándoles la seguridad y libertad que merecen.
