Maisha Roots is an NGO dedicated to community development in Tanzania, mainly in the city of Arusha, combining a global vision with local action. We are a non-profit NGO funded by donations. We focus on rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing sanctuary for birds. We handle around 2,000 inquiries and release an average of 250 birds annually. Many come from seizures, trafficking, abuse, and abandonment, and we give them a second chance.
