Founded in 2008 by Sue and Rod Weeding, the non-profit Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre saves neglected and abused horses, ponies and donkeys across Spain's Costa Blanca region. Let's help this amazing centre raise the money they need to continue their work and care for the 120 equine rescues currently living at the sanctuary. Together, we can help!
Our equines come to us starving, abused, scared and with broken spirits. We feel privileged to be able to give our rescued horses, ponies and donkeys a second chance at life with the dignity and respect they deserve.

[ENG] It was an incredible feat of teamwork that led to the rescue of this poor donkey, abandoned in Sax (Alicante) on a property that was in danger of collapsing, and littered with hazardous waste. Like so many of the equines we've rescued over the years, she doesn’t have a chip, leaving us with no clue as to who left her there to suffer.
Thanks to the kindness of the compassionate neighbours who provided her with food and water, and alerted the council and local police, the legal process to break down into the property and seize the animal was set in motion. The fact that a vet from Canisax, the local clinic, agreed to visit the property for a free check-up, and even provided a report on her condition, was nothing short of amazing.
Witnessing the results of good teamwork was truly heartwarming.
Although the donkey is over 20 years old and has some dental issues, she's in relatively good shape thanks to the caring neighbours. We don't know whether she's ever had the company of other donkeys, but we'll give her the time she needs to settle in at the rescue centre before introducing her to our herd of 31.
We're incredibly grateful to Carlos from the council for his tireless work in saving the donkey, as well as the neighbours who provided food to her, especially Karina, who gave her a name: Marley.
