ACT Animal Care Thassos has been set up by a group of people living on the island of Thassos, Greece. ACT's mission is to neuter stray cats and dogs to stop the growth of the population, give medical care to strays when needed and, if possible, find new homes for unwanted stray dogs. Since we have only a small shelter, we can only do this on a limited scale, and relying on our volunteers to provide foster care for the animals concerned. ACT is an official in Greece registered foundation.
Thassos has many stray cats with many sick animals. The solution is castrating. Since Covid our income from events/donations has gone down so we had to stop our castration project. Please help us to go on with this so important part of our work. With 100 teamers we can castrate 3 cats per month, that is 36 cats per year. Not much? More would be better, but this means at least 150 kittens less, who will give birth themselves in 6 months… Join us and help the cats to live a better life.

We are in the middle of the high season and we get many reports of orphaned kittens and sick or injured cats. So at the moment there is no time for castrations but the emphasis is on care and treatment.
